June 1. Black
Lives Matter demonstration at Shawsheen Sq June 1, organized by
Andover
Area Solidarity Group (many pictures) and others, had a thousand
peaceful people, keeping six feet apart. The Eagle Tribune said
500 people.
June 5 and June
7. Lawrence had Black Lives matter rallys. Brian had seen the National
Guard vehicles Friday, literature warning of looting, and stores
boarded up. There was no violence. I attended the one Sunday arranged
by Mayor Rivera in front of City Hall. The only sound system was
bullhorns, covered by helicopters and people yelling. About 200
attended.

1/4/2020 Vigil
at Shawsheen Square to say no war with Iran or Iraq. Code Pink called
for a vigil after protests in Iraq and US military buildup. After
this was organized, the US blew up general Soleimani. On schedule
the next day, 21 people braved the rain (which held off till 11:50).
Phil and Allan joined about 35 people at a demonstration against
Elbit , a large construction fabricator of drones, at its headquarters
in Merrimack, New Hampshire. There were many young people, mainly
from Jewish Voice for Peace.
